Photograph showing a soldier standing guard on the corner of 7th & N Street NW in Washington D.C. with the ruins of buildings that were destroyed during the riots that followed the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. April 8, 1968.

Women being arrested in Chicago for defying a ban on wearing brief swimsuits in public. In other words, wearing one piece bathing suits and showing a little leg. Women were meant to cover-up when not in the water. Chicago 1922.

Office of J.P. Morgan & Co., New York, c1900

Characteristic sidewalk newsstand, New York City, c. late December 1902. Location seems to be 23rd Street just east of Sixth Avenue, Manhattan. Stairs probably lead to "El" elevated transit line. Visible magazines on display are from late December 1902 and January 1903, so photo probably dates from around Christmas 1902 / New Year Day 1903.

New York circa 1905. ''Broad Street exchange and curb brokers''.

Construction of first Twin Falls-Jerome Bridge, 1927.

Partly finished open hearth furnaces and stacks for a steel mill under construction which will soon be producing vitally needed steel, Columbia Steel Co., Geneva, Utah. November 1942.

Carr Fork Canyon as seen from ''G'' bridge, Bingham Copper Mine, Utah. In the background can be seen a train with waste or over-burden material on its way to the dump. November 1942.

Boys play during the economic depression of 1986. Manchester, England.

November 12, 1936. A group of Stearmans from the US Army Air Corps fly in formation over the Golden Gate Bridge.
