Cover letter
• My introduction :
I am 22 years old. I grew up in the Rhône department, more precisely in Lyon, located in the east of France.
People see me as an easy-going person. Always optimistic and never upset, I make good use of experience.
Very interested in human relations (family, friends or colleagues), I am also a hard worker who is not easily discouraged.
• My interests. environment and sports :
Environment :
I have been involved in environment since my childhood, this is an area I feel concerned about. I grew up in a family where recycling, energy saving, and the respect of nature were life principles.
Sports :
I still regularly practice sports (Basket ball, volley ball, mountain bike, running…) mainly for the social aspect but also to pushing my limits. It is a simple and effective way to meet people, create links, and share with others.
Concerning my studies, I obtained an Advanced Vocational Diploma specialized in sales that I performed with the company E.Leclerc.
• Why taking an EVS ?
For several years now, I have been looking forward to living a year abroad so as to learn a new language, discover a new life style and another culture.
This would constitute, in my opinion, a rewarding experience for my coming professional life and the best way to realize what is called "Europe".
As I speak English and I prefer the Anglo-Saxon culture, I decided to live in Ireland for a whole year starting September 2009.
My project started to take shape when a friend of mine told me about the EVS.
I obtained information at the local mission where I was explained what it consisted in.
If I have the opportunity of living abroad, why not making it useful? I put aside my initial plans to focus on the EVS.
By taking the EVS, I wish to know myself better by being confronted to another culture, other realities, another life style and work environment. I want to experience Europe through more than great speeches but by meeting another Europeans, dreaming about the same solidarity, while acting concretely by the means of your association.
• Why your association ?
• Sending organization :
My EVS project is currently followed by Tamère Lapute from the local mission in Villeurbanne. The local mission has had experience in sending volunteers and in international partnerships. Thus I will be assisted regularly and thoroughly during all the process.
I hope to share with you my European voluntary service. I welcome any questions you may have and I look forward to speaking with you further regarding the position. May your answer be positive or negative, I would like to thank you for being among those who act for a cleaner and a better world.
Please find my Curriculum Vitae enclosed in this email.
